How many ideas slip away because we don’t dare to discover their true potential.
By: Héctor Tirado – (MBA, DM-IST) Having a profitable business is the dream of many, with or without prior experience. However, we often limit ourselves by thinking that only seasoned entrepreneurs can start a business. The good news is that times have changed, and today the conditions are more in our favor than ever. This text is a call to action: the idea is the spark, and you are the one who can make it shine. If you live in Florida, think about all the services you use to maintain your home, the restaurants you visit with your family, or the shops that repair your car. Have you ever wondered how they started? The answer is simple: someone took a vague idea and turned it into a successful business, solving real problems in their community. A business is not just a place where products or services are sold; it is a solution to a problem and an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those around you. Many ventures began with the same question: “If I had only known…” The difference between those who keep the idea in their mind and those who make it a reality lies in taking action. To move from idea to action, you must first understand that everything begins with creative thinking. Not everyone sees the world the same way; each person perceives opportunities from their own perspective. That is why a true entrepreneur is someone who not only has the idea but also the vision to develop it. Vision allows you to anticipate problems, project scenarios, and understand the importance of every detail— even before having all the resources.

A few years ago, a young man approached me asking for guidance on how to install a simple electrical receptacle for a neighbor. Recently arrived from abroad, he needed to earn income to support his family. I taught him the technique, but also the basics of how to start and manage a business. He returned several times, practicing and perfecting each lesson. Months later, he showed me a portfolio of his work. Years later, I hired him to do improvements in my home. The quality of his work and the professionalism of his team were impressive. Today, that young man who started with no experience owns a successful business with branches in other counties. The most rewarding part of this story is seeing how someone with interest and perseverance transformed an idea into a solid venture. Today, that entrepreneur has grown into the commercial level, providing services to well-known companies throughout Florida.
If you have an idea, don’t let it slip away. Don’t wait until everything is perfect. Take action. Learn. Improve. Make your idea shine. Success doesn’t arrive on its own— it arrives to those who dare to take the first step, stay committed, and work hard and intelligently.
