Florida Ricans Arising is a movement made up of Puerto Ricans who have made Central Florida our home — a place we value deeply for its opportunities, diversity, and quality of life.  The expression “Florida Ricans Arising” can be interpreted in many ways, but at its core, it means: “Puerto Ricans in Florida are rising, emerging, and taking the lead.”  It reflects our pride, our determination, and our desire to make a positive impact in the communities we are part of.  Many of us who live in Florida cherish the advantages offered by each of the fifty states of the nation, yet we carry in our hearts the natural beauty, warmth, and culture of our beloved island, Puerto Rico.  This shared bond has united us into a strong and vibrant community that extends throughout Kissimmee, Orlando, Tampa, and beyond.  Today, there are more than 1.5 million Puerto Ricans living in Florida, making this state home to the largest Puerto Rican population outside the island.
